TCAG, in partnership with Operation Lifesaver, declared September as railroad safety month.
The State of California leads the nation in rail related fatalities, many of which could have been
prevented by increased public awareness of the dangers associated with railroad crossings.

TCAG has partnered with Operation Lifesaver, a nationwide railroad safety organization, during
its Bike ‘N Stride outreach program for pedestrian and bike outreach, and would like to support
their initiative by increasing railroad crossing danger awareness. In 2015 Tulare County saw two
railroad fatalities and five injuries. One life lost is too many, and therefore TCAG would like to
proclaim September as Railroad Safety Month.
